Welcome to Grasspoint
Old Ferry House
This deceptively roomy family house comes with:
- A large open plan family kitchen and dining/sitting area with a well-equipped kitchen, complete with AGA, microwave, micro-oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Heating via night storage heater and a wood burning stove.
- Generous Dining Hall (off the front porch), with a large Resolute stove, this area contains a large dining table with chairs, and a piano!
- A second smaller sitting room, for relaxing, complete with stove and a generous coffee table area, ideal for family games!
- A Library study, with books to browse, a desk, card table, and stove. The study is a perfect quiet room. Night Storage Heater.
- The upper floors sleep 10 comfortably across 5 bedrooms, which comprise a master bedroom (en suite) with a super king bed, another large room with a king bed, a large twin room and two further twin rooms.
In addition to the en suite room, there are two further bathrooms and two shower rooms - each with a w/c - with one on the ground floor too.
Guests are welcome to use the functional utility room with adjacent 'wet' entrance. Using the wet entrance is advisable when returning from any muddy or sea-based adventures! There is a clothes washing machine and separate dryer.
Outside, you will find a private courtyard garden with seating to complement the
surrounding miles of countryside and coastline.
Heating and Stoves
In all the principle rooms of the house there are log-burning stoves for which matches, firelighters, kindling, and a starter pack of logs will be provided.
To supplement these there is a mixture of night storage and free-standing electric
heaters. Electricity is included.
Dog Friendly
We are happy to host a maximum of 2 dogs per booking, at an additional cost of £40 per dog. Please kindly keep dogs in their own beds on the ground floor, and do not let them into bedrooms. There is ample space in the heated utility area.
We share the surounding land with highland cattle, red deer and sheep. Please be particularly mindful of your dogs around the highland cattle - they can be extremely protective of their calves and potentially dangerous.
Linen and Towels
Bed linen is provided, but please bring your own towels.
Wifi
The house has no WiFi. Personally, we enjoy a digital detox but if it is important to you, bring your own source internet (e.g. a 4g router or mini WiFi dongle).
